The Financial Safari began as a radio show on one station in North Carolina in 2006 when Peter J. D'Arruda was offered a chance to share his financial expertise on the air. After receiving many calls from listeners to that first show urging him to continue, "Coach Pete", as he quickly became known, built a radio and television studio at his office in North Carolina, and began to produce the weekly show.
