Welcome to the NSAIDs podcast with Charles Stanley for Friday, July 1. God never changes. This key attribute of his character helps you find. No matter what life there is that you know the Scriptures you and are admonished to trust the Lord and probably one of the most familiar passages in all the Old Testament is Proverbs 3, five and six trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path and for example the 62nd Psalm, David says all you people, he says, praise the Lord, all you people all through the Old Testament will continue to be admonished of trusting place our trust in it. Sounds so simple. Just believing and yet you not found it very difficult sometimes to do one this message. I want you listen very carefully because no matter what you're going through and what you're facing in life if you listen carefully. Here's what you got a five unit on a farm and undergirding that will enable you and help you place your trust in God.
When everything in you says you can't.
Everything in you says don't you look around you and you don't see any evidence for trusting God and everything around you may be falling apart. The answer is still the same place your trust in him. Now what I would like to do. This point is to move to some very specific biblical reasons that the Bible gives us that which you and I can trust him a God in whom we can trust and so first of all I want to say we can trust them because the truth is he's the only God, the God of Genesis chapter 1. Listen in the beginning God, who is this. He is the only God. He is the sovereign God is the supreme God.
The Bible says his name is Jehovah and you recall that Moses said to God when he sent down to Egypt to release the Israelites the Hebrews he, several of whom I got tell Michael Israelites to simply use he said you tell them I am has sent you. I am has sent you the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of creation you and serve. The only true God.
Now not only cannot trust him because he's the only true God, but secular because he is the essence of truth itself.
That is all. Truth is going to be found in God. Now I can trust the God who is absolutely truthful.
He is always truthful. For example, in the 31st song. If you notice in the fifth verse what he says. He says into the hands I commit my spirit. In your call that this is what Jesus said on the cross, when he was crucified. Here Jesus is quoting the Psalm Psalm 31 verse five in the hand I commit my spirit that has ransomed me oh Lord, God of truth.
He is the essence of truth. He cannot live. God cannot change his character under any condition, that's one thing God cannot do because the changes character will not be God. There's 1/3 thing I know about him. That also gives me a great sense of faith that I can trust this God and that is that he is absolutely faith your call, he says in Lamentations chapter 3 verse 23 he says how great is his faithfulness. Great is the faithfulness of God. What is the faithfulness of God. It simply means that he's reliable that he's trustworthy you can count on him. He is reliably there, he will always be there when I need him. He says I will never leave you nor forsake you. I can always trust him no matter what he is absolutely faithful.
No one can promise you that they will always be with you. No one can promise you anything that God can promise because he is the only one that we know who is absolutely unquestionably always in every single possible circumstance of life. If he makes a promise, he is faithful to carry out the promise. That's the kind of God. He is, he is faithful that means you can trust them. He's trustworthy but there's another reason the juvenile can place our trust in him and that is because he has all power.
You remember what Jesus said, he said.
For example, before his disciples were the commission gave the great commission. At the very beginning of the he said all power and authority have been given to me.
He said also that all judgment had been given to him. Jesus at authority all powers been given to me in heaven and on earth. He says therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and I'm the father and the son. The Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all the things that I commanded you and low I'll be with you. He says unto the end of this age. I'll be with you every step of the way only a God who has all power can make such a promise is that not what you look at a verse or two. Don't you look in the hundred and third Psalm is a very important verse. It's more important than most people think and that is the 19th verse of the hundred and third Psalm and when you're looking at that. Let me define what I mean by this. The sovereignty of God means that God is in absolute control of every situation, circumstance of life. This is why Jesus said Abraham, when you're heads number. He said even the sparrow that falls to the earth. The father knows about it. Nothing happens beyond the reach the knowledge of the power of Almighty God, look at his 19th verse, the Lord has established his throne in the heavens and his sovereignty rules over all that is Almighty God is an absolute control of every single solitary thing in all of life.
There is nothing out from others, you know what I can trust the God who has all power. I can trust the God who has all power because that means because he is truth.
I know you can tell me the truth because he's faithful he's going do what he says. And because he's omnipotent. He has the power to do what he promised to do. I can place my trust in a God who has all power to do everything single thing he promised to do because another reason that is because I know he loves us unconditionally and their many, many verses that you and I can turn to concerning his love.
I was her turn to the Galatians are Ephesians chapter 5 for a moment and you recall what he says the beginning of this chapter he says in the fifth chapter and the. The first couple of verses there.
He says in chapter 5, verse one. Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave himself up for as an offering and a sacrifice to God is a fragrant aroma. He says with a walk in love is is just as Christ also loved you and gave himself up for now, but I think about how much he loves us. The degree to which he loves us he loves as the Bible says absolutely, unconditionally, he loves us.
Now this is a verse of Scripture. When you turn to John chapter 15 for a moment. This is what Jesus said this 50 chapter memory that the four, 13, 14, 15, 16, chapter 70 chapters of John those chapters. Right before his crucifixion.
This is what he says in this ninth verse of the 15 check wickedness just as the father has loved me, have also loved you about in my love and I think about that. He says you will know how much I love you pieces that you think about how much the father loves me. Jesus is saying or how much of the father love the sun.
He loved him with absolute perfect love eternal love indescribable in comparable love Jesus was so loved by the father is what he say he says in the same way.
The father has loved me. That's the way I love you I love you this as the were the same with the father love me and think about this. You and I can trust in God who loves us so unconditionally that he loves us just the way he loved the sun, Jesus Christ the son of God, the Spirit of God the father God. They all love us exactly alike, and that is he loves us just the way he looked the same intensity with which he loved his son Jesus says I love you with the same intensity.
The father loves me now. Can I put my trust in a God who is the only true God cannot put my trust in a God who is in the essence of true things itself cannot put my trust in a God who is absolutely faithful missing who absolutely has all power to perform every single thing you promise cannot put my faith in a God who loves me absolutely, unconditionally, and what is the answer. What is the answer. Yes, you and I can trust the godlike. Now I want you listen very carefully on the slowdown. But suppose God changes I can trust the fact that he is faithful that is all-powerful, that is loving God, but suppose suppose God change his mind about me then what I want you listen carefully so you will be able to go back and look at these verses remember exactly talk, listen carefully, God does not change in his person in his being in all his perfections. He does not change in his purpose or his plans or his power God in the essence of who years. This not change.
Now he has emotions and so therefore he says he loves. He likewise can be angry.
He swallowed up a whole bunch of disobedient servants in the Old Testament swallowed them up in their so God can get angry, but he also is a God of love.
So when we say that God doesn't change that doesn't mean that he has one emotional listen carefully. It means that God never changes in the circumstances, it is. And so when we talk about a God whom we can trust. Thank God he does not change. Now somebody says but wait a minute now. I got a few verse of Scripture, much like us. I will. I want you to go back if you will to Exodus chapter 32 you recall that when Moses went up on the mound to receive the 10 commandments when he came back he heard this noise. I mean they were having themselves one big idolatrous party. They create a golden care.
They were down surrenders cabin carrying all kinds of extortions and so the Scripture says that Moses got so angry. Listen, he really got angry. Through the commandments down and I got listen God was angry and verse 10 says of the 32nd chapter now, then let me alone, but not anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. I will make of you a great nation. So what happens with this diverse then Moses entreated the Lord his God and settle Lord, what about anger burned against our people whom bells brought up in the land of Egypt with great power and the mighty hand washing the Egyptians speak saying with evil intent. He brought them out to kill them in the mountains and to destroy them from the face of the earth turn from our burning anger and change their mind about doing harm to the people.
Remember Abraham, Isaac, initialed our servants, to whom that is swear about something to say to them, I will multiply your descendents as the stars of the heavens, and all this land of which I have spoken I will give to your descendents, and they shall inherit the land and inherited forever so the Lord changes monies the Lord change his mind. No, he did watch this carefully.
You say, but it says he did but now what change. This is the nature of God when there is sin and the judgment of God is coming and there is an intercessor, one who is willing to come to God in behalf of those people crying out in their behalf, for God to be merciful. What does God do. God responds to intercessory prayer.
God responds to intercessory prayer and so what is he doing he is responding to Moses intercessory prayer is not the goddess changed his mind because this is the nature of God to respond to intercessory prayer and so what is he doing he is being himself, so it are the circumstances changing yes no what's this God in his person in his being in his perfections in his purpose and his plans and his powers not change what is happened is this that Moses has interceded before the father, God is simply being himself in answering the petition, the crying, weeping, heartfelt petition of Moses as he intercedes for the people of God. So what he says he changes is not yet remember what that means that God is in God hasn't changed in the fact that God God was waiting for Moses to intercede in his behalf, and I have a visceral and then what he said is I will not destroy them, and in response to your intercession if anything should shout to you and the it should shelters.
This how important it is, how powerful is for a child of God walking in the spirit living up your life. Living a holy life to cry out to God in behalf of people who desperately to be saved whose circumstances need to be changed because God by his nature will hear and answer our prayer and alter and change the circumstances of the people for whom we pray, love example, what about John God says Jonah want you to go to Nineveh and I want you to preach the judgment of God is coming so because we know the story of Joan Whalen support so he probably does get there against his will preach is the truth and Nineveh breaks out and a great revival sackcloth and ashes arming of tremendous revival breaks loose. Well, Joan ends up sulking fretting over the fact that it looked like he lied. He told the judgment of God was coming, why did God send Jonah to begin with. He sent Jonah, not simply to announce the judgment of God, but to preach the truth in order that they may repent of their sins that the judgment would not come. But the judgment listen. The message had to be the judgment of God is coming.
And so what happens they repented of their sin. God did not send the judgment did God change his mind.
No, because it is the nature of God to respond to genuine repentance. Listen, it is the will and purpose and plan of God to bring people to repentance, to bring people to worship him and adore him and to serve him. It's the nature of God is the attributes of God is the person and being and plan of God that there be repentance over sin and genuine repentance that brings people to God. Therefore God responds easily. Remember, he responds in the circumstance. Whatever it is, as the circumstance changes.
Listen, the nature of God is such that God is going to be the saying that he always is in a circumstance that is like that particular circumstance of God is change. Why would God had to change his mind when he is omniscient he does not know anything about how important this is. We said when we we know he loves us unconditionally know he's absolute truth absolute faithful absolute power in his hands never suppose this, but even if listen all those other things being true. Suppose God could change. Think about this. Can you imagine living in a world in which you and I are trying to serve a God whom we are not sure what these going to change his mind about us tomorrow. Not imagine being a part of the kingdom of God that this God in this kingdom in which you and I live could decide that he's going to be evil and we end up living in a kingdom under a dominating, listen, omniscient and omnipresent, omnipotent, evil God bring his what that does that actually destroys everything you and I believe we have nothing to stand upon nothing to resting may commit myself to God who could change his mind. You want me to believe that on the server. God who's who believes this day that tomorrow changes mind loves me then hates me tomorrow.
Listen, you can't name me one thing about Almighty God, that can change and he still remain Jehovah God of the Bible the same yesterday today and forever. That verse of Scripture is not the Bible about next the same yesterday today and forever know what is that say it says that you and are the most fortunate people world to see why think about every single believer.
We have a personal relationship with the God who can change what he said about Jesus, I love you I love you so much us, if only begotten son to die on your behalf and pay your sin that you will know how much I love you. That's how much I love you but God supposes you will never change my love. God's God cannot change because it is not his nature to change and thank God you and I never have to worry about him change it. Listen. So what is it what you think you are God's opinion of you is on Taylor this he loves me to death. That's what his opinion is what you know he loves you. The same is all but me know know know.
Listen, he loves you just the way you are saying is satisfied that he loves you just you are what is he doing the risotto is not satisfied that is this. He says he predestined you and me to be conformed to the likeness of his son towards his goal for us. His goal for us is to be like his son.
What is he doing. He's not changing. He's changing us changing our attitude changing our conduct changing our behavior changing our thought patterns changing our love and devotion for him. So what am I saying I'm simply saying this doesn't make a difference who you are and what you done in your life and where you are when he says if you confess your sins to him and place your trust in him and in his death at Calvary for the forgiveness of your sins, he will forgive everything you've ever committed. He will make you one of his children, he will write your name in the Lamb's book of life for ever and ever and ever. You will be a child of the living God. That is the promise of God. It is the promise that every single one listen. He says he that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That is the promise of God and God never changes. The tremendous sense of encouragement and assurance. The people living in sin.
People who are in prison. People gonna record behind them so long people have given up on why people who so despairing.
Here is a God who does not change.
Here is a God whose love cannot be altered under any condition and he loves you, my friend, no matter what's going on in your life, wise men and women will humble themselves before that kind of a loving father asked for his forgiveness trust him as their personal savior and start living life at its best.
