Jay Sekulow live the U.S. Senate sent to confirm Judge Amy Cody Baron to make her justice.
Pastor Bill joined us in the studio today on Jay Sekulow lot line from Washington DC to confirm Judge Amy Connie Barrett to the Supreme Court today after yesterday's vote to limit debate setting up for a final vote for her confirmation this evening. Democrats taking to the Senate floor through the night and into this morning to speak out against her confirmation just days before the election. Phone lines are open for your questions right now. Call 1-800-684-3110 release as many votes as 60. Your host Jordan secular old Jay Sekulow like this Jordan secular. We are take your phone calls 164, 31 to got a special guest in studio right now with us for ambassador to Japan and courtesy the candidate into the sea. Bill Harry's joy is been on the broadcast number times before and worry are eight days out from the election.
So we thought be great to have him in the street because he's been campaigning across the state is with the present when the present was here for the final debates and so bills great to have you give great to be back. Jordan lets you know my dad is he's back in studio two with us and I know were both insured and noticed right off the top you been campaign the state what you're since kind of on the groundwater people excited about what are people nervous about issues that that really your folks in Tennessee which I think will translate to the lot of the country, while the most immediate issue is that people in Tennessee want to see Judge Amy Connie Barrett confirmed today that's gonna happen that will broader, though I would say jobs in the economy by far. What's on people's minds that they are very concerned about getting this economy turned back around again. They responded very well to my message because I know I'm a businessman for my life understand how this economy works. I was the secretary of commerce or in Tennessee. We turned on the last recession so that is resonated also wants the law and order with this pandemic points. One of the things I was curious on yours from you because we know what other city elections can be close countries divided so you Tennessee I think you're in great shape. Don't take anything for granted edition not and I gotta tell you, folks, you go out and vote. Now the voting numbers are good people are turning out and boating, but you make sure your you want your boat to count.
You need to get out there and and vote we talk about the economy of the strongest economy probably in US history and then we got hit with the coronavirus and then we had to shut down, which I think the presence of the right family had no choice at the point now you have the reopening. How are people feeling right now. Those are still this kind of anxiousness to get this thing back to the distal tremendous amount of anxiousness and we weave when we reopen Tennessee's been one of the earlier states to reopen.
We still have a lot of ground to cover and I tell you this. A lot of business owners that I talked to across the state were very frustrated by the fact that the Congress put in a disincentive to go back to work $600 a week bonus that they put into the unemployment been there some things we do shoot ourselves in the foot of slow the economy down, but were moving in the right direction were now below 8% on a national basis and unemployment in Tennessee were about 6.3, so we are better than the average, but you got states like California 11.11% unemployment that are really weighing us down is in the enemy in the city of Nashville businesses down on the tour, someone of the hottest first areas in the world and they are getting clobbered that they that they really are they really are, and that the businesses that are on lower Broadway have have really suffered tremendously. I'm very concerned and you know, obviously I think we all are one more question, I did Amy Koning Connie Barrett situations can be resolved. Tonight she will be the next Supreme Court nominee how significant you think that if it's very significant. People here in Tennessee want to see a constitutionalist we judge on the bench. What they don't want to see is what the Democrats and threatening and that's packing the court putting for more activist liberal judges that will make the law make the Supreme Court super legislative body accountable to voters with lifetime appointments. That's not what we want to see her to essentially abscess we come back, let more time with MS or Haggerty. Your phone calls to 164 3110 will of course get into judgment that confirmation vote which is scheduled for this evening. It could happen earlier if Democrats kind of give up on the delay tactics but no later than probably 7:30 PM Eastern time.
Even with all the delays the Democrats are putting in place and it looks like she has of course the votes to be confirmed and will talk more with MS or Haggerty, if you will find out about his campaign team Haggerty.Tom will be right back on Jay Sekulow challenges facing Americans is now free to sort constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever to the American Center for Law and Justice on the frontlines protecting your freedoms defending your rights in court in Congress and in the public arena exceptional track record of success. But here's the bottom line we could not do our work without your support, we remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms and then remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member. Thank you. Well, this is the perfect time to stand with us ACLJ God where you can learn more about her life changing, member today ACLJ only one.
A society can agree that the most vulnerable voice. Is there any hope for that culture to survive.
And that's exactly what you are saying the American Center for Law and Justice defend the rights of life, we've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called show you how Tatian includes a look at all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later, when Obama care me in many ways your membership is powering the right question for mission life today online/secular is your phone calls 164 3110 we had a very special guest in studios but on the broadcast number times before Bill Haggerty, former ambassador to Japan. This is a sum of the present trump endorsed very early fact, the first candidate the present trouble endorsing this election cycle, even in the primary and this was for a U.S. Senate in Tennessee.
If you're outside a Tennessee again to learn more about him team Haggerty.com that's team H AG ERT Y.com because he simply gives that these can make an immediate impact in Washington DC and of course were talking politics eight days out before the election having someone who's campaigning statewide. It was with the President last week. At the debate welcome the presence Tennessee has had to do it through covert to the last time you were in a bill.
I think it was it was just it was July and we were talking about how campaigning have changed and edited it changed considerably. Even in a state like Tennessee, which is been one of the more open states throughout this process. So what's it like that is final final stretch people out early voting there you're seeing people go to meeting to go to groups that what's it what's it been like well it's never campaign for anything before, not politicians. This is the first time I've ever run for office is very different from the plan that we laid out the beginning. I gotta say that what I see now is that people have been resilient. They want to get out. We been doing events outdoors. I was in Shelby County. Saturday night we had an amphitheater. Everybody was sitting outside was a beautiful evening and it worked out just fine.
So weak. We've had to adapt. I hope that when the book gets written and they write the chapter about our campaign that we will been one of the most rapidly adapting campaigns. We certainly succeeded in hit our goals but the train is changed and on the voting.
I hope that everybody here in Tennessee, realizes that if you see a long line. A lot of that has to the fact that by staying 60+ I handed early voting that was exactly by the way, it was very orderly but but clearly people were staying very quickly and I was in and out of there in 1520 minutes we were here for the debate. I thought the take away the debate was left.
Let's see we have the sound from this.
I want to play. That was even find it be common to the vice President made about oil and gas so that became I think a major talking point. What was your sense first while before we get to the pickles when you think of the debate. Overall I thought the debate was a great success. The present did a terrific job and even though they tried to shift the focus from foreign policy, which was supposed to have been the topic generally is the topic.
The third debate try to put it into a framework that would've suited Biden in every respect but the President did a wonderful job on the debate and patient when he came out with the hit on the oil industry looking for this when you close down the ladder transition from their own ministry. Yes, it is a big statement because I would stop because the oil industry pollutes significantly.
My favorite part is said why would you do that like almost like a seasoned Democrat like Sam like why would you do this, why would you say this Joe in front everybody and tell everybody this even if we supported what you doing like your two weeks out before the election tell everybody want to get rid of oil but that's what he said he believed his party is even more radical than he is on that they try to walk about. Which is it working how big of a moment was that I was huge and I think that Joe Biden is done is best not to Telesis plans. I've often wondered whether he can remember what his plans are.
But you know, Harrison Sanders knows what know what the plan is. But this was something that really reveal the fact that he doesn't understand how the economy works usually to take both their economic security and our national security and throw them to the wind makes the solar panels China who's going to make the turbines for the win China to put us back in dependency on China. Can we know the family's financial relationships. The Biden fence is really important point interrelationship is appointed probably people don't immediately make is that these other sources of energy. They're talking about were not at the manufacturing level yet in our country to produce it here right now me and I know that that's a big part of your campaign is been getting our country to the point where we can manufacture like that we can't immediately with at least that was a lot of work to get that point we talked about it. I want to see made in the USA. The theme of America again and a lot of it has to do with dealing with standing up to China. When you said something I want to reiterate that only most people are. I would love I wish there was another way to get another debate question so quickly to be making the turbines to be producing the solar panels it's going to China exactly. So that makes the dependency on try wearing out energy independent. For the first time in our lives and now we go back and be dependent upon them to produce the solar panels in the turbines that we need for solar and wind that is our national security at risk. That's why this election is so critical you, so also it's important to you in and that you got the national election. Of course the Presidential election was take petite the elections happening at your level II at the U.S. Senate level. This is critical, as if Pres. Trump is reelected if if the if the Senate does remain if even small margins in Republican hands you're able to take things done. Even though I think what Nancy Pelosi that is just been horrific and not be moving forward with covert relief that Americans need this it it as it will be there and will be there in a way want to stop endless investigations so that this present to move forward but also to the put the policies he's got a whole second round of policies ready to be put in place and also to get us out of the place we are now. I think people understand that with this present in the right team in the U.S. Senate. We can be out of the covert kind of situated already starting to see that recovery happened and we don't want to re-shut down our economy like Joe Biden says he wants to do is start shutdowns again and people don't want to go back that even in blue states.
I agree with you and the President put me in the White House economic recovery task force during this pandemic to already get started working on the policies will help us rebound our economy more rapidly. Our goal is to make America rebound faster than other nations faster than Europe faster than China, Japan, also come back stronger. By that I mean getting our supply chains back home strengthening our nation from a national security and economic security standpoint in Tennessee that people have until Thursday to vote early and then minutes that goes back to election day voting. We talked about that the early voting.
I think this is important for all of our listeners, but it seems like we've we've all done it and it was done a very safe way. Took us all about that 30 minutes is it looks a little bit longer that when it's outside because the way they're doing about what you were encouraging people out there who are you listen to this radio broadcast wherever they are in the country but did to the sea as well to do it out to spin this final week if they want to assist campaigns if they want to help which they be doing the first thing is observation to get there about it, but in and get 10 friends get 10 relatives get get get your friend is very organized to their people need understand that there's one point I make is well you over there.
My mother is 88 and when she went to vote, they came they take people that are older that confirm if you happen have a crutch or a cane. They will take you right to the front of the line. I want people to know that to do so Jefferson pulls up the got a wheelchair to go straight to the front of the line. Don't think that you have to be at the very back line wait for 30 minutes right there and I think people trying to make this work.
I think it's a good thing for the United States of America as citizens of the United States, regardless your party that even with the pandemic people are able to vote in person. I think you know it's good to give early voting to but that people are exercising their right to their constitutional obligation. I call it out to vote, but I think important for for everybody is what is on the minds of the citizens you mentioned the economy so natural Tennessee. Generally, the state of Tennessee had a very robust economy. Yes, what's been the impact of covert on that economy and how you see it turning right takeover. It is been devastating right here in Nashville we seen is a lot of construction that's that's been able to continue on and near Nashville has been booming construction projects have have have have continue to move forward. But everything in the tourism industry has been just cratered what we've seen is huge decline in just complete drop-off in the in the tourism and hospitality industries. Here, everyplace else is beginning to come back you up to severe companies Tennessee it's booming up there. Not so in Nashville are people dying to get outside and dictated to recreate got right assets are middle Tennessee to do that right here Nashville. That's not been allowed and that is not a real chance. We do have a confidence that yes right Julie is coming from Tennessee online. Three.
Hey Julie, welcome to Jay Sekulow live link questionnaire interact.
I didn't comment about the oil industry.
My first question.
If you are the benefactors if there is a diving oil industry. In my second question and who are those benefactors donations going to Besser Henry said is right and one repeated, and that is if you go to solar and wind as the primary we lose our energy debate. Sounds like my will is an agent and Bennett's everybody gets on everybody gets went but you have to make equipment and who makes the equipment China about that so we believe away from energy independence to immediately edit systems dependence for energetic instead of what what your plan is made in this final minute, which I think is important which I think is resonate with Tennessee was also those across the country. They want made in USA for real. So if we do want to install the solar panels one day if you want to go with these wind power one day that we don't rely on China, but to do that we have to get our manufacturing speed were not there yet. So you you got plate place to the kind of get America back up to speed when it comes to manifest. I think our manufacturing capacity can and will be the strongest in the world and I think Tennessee can be right at the forefront. We've got a great business climate.
We have a great location with the strongest balance sheet in the nation and we need to work harder and harder on occupational training, vocational training here in Tennessee so that we have the strongest workforce as well as the direction you want to take this will have integrity served our country already is in Besser to Japan. He is well-versed in the issues that are facing our country will make a great United States Sen. and as is investor said tonight.
We will see the confirmation and the swearing-in of the next Supreme Court justice of the non-spacing to find out more about Bill Haggerty's campaign team Haggerty.com only one. A society can agree the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive.
And that's exactly what you are saying when the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission will show you how you are personally publication includes a look at all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later plan parenthood's role in the abortion industry and what Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is empowering the right question for copy mission life today online/challenges facing Americans as time and are now free to sort constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever to stay with the American Center for Law and Justice on the front lines protecting your freedoms defending your rights and courts in Congress and in the public and we have an exceptional track record of success. But here's the bottom line we could not do more work without your support, we remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms that remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member. Thank you for your thoughts. Well, this is the perfect time to stand with us ACLJ God where you can learn more about her life changing, member today ACLJ thousand 800-684-3110 is 100-684-3110 we had investor Bill Haggerty with his auntie, now join us than Bennett in Washington DC. Let's go write the plan because in hours, literally. We are going to see the confirmation and you will see tonight the swearing-in of Amy Connie Barrett is an associate just as the springboard United States by the end of today, J Judge Amy Connie Barrett will be Justice Amy Connie Barrett, an incident happened by a margin that actually has some reading during this to be 52 votes in the United States Senate, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska has announced that she is gonna support the confirmation of Judge Amy Connie Barrett because of her qualifications. J.
She did vote against a procedural motion earlier in the weekend so that vote was 51 to 48. Interestingly enough, Sen., Harris, you thought this was such an important issue to oppose.
She didn't show up in Washington DC to cast an opposing vote so that margin was three as well. J there was debate throughout the night last night and went 00 through the weekend. A credit in my view, to leader McConnell and Sen. Graham permit putting this on a track that would bring that vote today but J if Democrats take all of the time that is allotted to debate today roughly around 730 East Coast time. They will take a full vote in on the floor. The United States Senate, and it sure looks like that final tally can be 52 to 48, but one where another J at the end of today. There will be a full complement of nine justices in the United States Supreme Court and Judge Barrett will be Justice. I let's take a Roberta who was calling from Colorado got a question about Susan Collins is up for reelection.
Roberta, what will broadcaster on their election and why not vote for any parent because he's up for reelection right now and she's in a really close race in her vote is not to be decisive and be in the turnout of the confirmation. She will be Amy. Amy is to be judged.
There will be confirmed. So the question then becomes this Susan vote the waist. You know, her constituents probably with me about your post process to oppose the process, said that the President should not be nominating this close to an election and then when Lisa Murkowski of Alaska decided to vote in favor of Judge Barrett that gave the Republicans the 52 votes to which is more than they needed and they gave Sen. Collins essentially a pass to go back to be able to say to her constituents and she is to answer your question directly. She is up for reelection right now she is in a race right now.
That's very kind and very close and then this may help her look cheap. She voted against impeachment generally votes with this is a this is to talk about the politics of what you and can talk about the politics. What this yet because the votes are there to confirm Susan Collins vote is not to be the vote that is necessary to put Judge Barrett to make Judge Barrett justice. And if if she's in a very tight race in your time and ultimately whether not you like that the politics of Susan Collins or not she would remit if she wins she assist in the Republicans keeping the majority and majority Republicans don't adopt Susan Collins politics, but she is a Republican and so I think you look at it just straight up strategically at this point when you got election eight days out that if it benefits her helps her or just does it hurt her to take that vote this way and it's not also going to be devoted that the judge Barrett has to have in this political environment you make that you make the tough political decisions that are best.
Do I think that if her vote was absolutely necessary.
Susan Collins would be there for deferred for judge Barrett. I think she would. She's proven that the past.
She took the hit by stay with Cavanaugh took the hit on each. But so if she was if it was necessary, but she's got you got Murkowski got Romney got Gardner the votes are there, you don't need the vice President could be there to preside is completely political decision. Yes, I think it again.
It's not that you have to support the politics of Susan Collins or of made Republicans.
But remember that she contributes that overall number of whether Republicans retain control of the U.S. Senate fan that is key, especially if if present. Trump is what either way, if present, tribes reelected, they are they are the wall that stands between the out-of-control house Democrats. I think it's pretty tough to switch the house right now.
It's take a big wave election that the polls aren't showing it all but who knows. They're all up for grabs every house seat, but in the Senate. I mean, it becomes a it becomes the wall, and if present trump were not to be reelected and you got a present Joe Biden, but a Republican Senate. They even become that much more important it Sen. Jordan you very well could be the deciding vote United States Senate and 50-50 Senate is entirely possible, which would obviously make that the vice President the tie-breaking vote, but it's also quite possible the seed in Maine could either take Republicans or Democrats to 51 seats in what I would write when I look at the Amy Connie Barrett situation and Susan Collins vote.
You know she has said that she thinks judge Barrett is qualified.
I happen to disagree with Sen. Collins analysis on the procedure I think is the Senate is perfectly entitled to proceed as she wants, but I think you're exactly right that it has become a political decision for herself. I would tell voters in Maine look at at what a Susan Collins vote in Maine would mean for the United States Senate as opposed to not Amy Connie Barrett as opposed to Sarah Gideon, her opponent, the former's speaker the house, the difference Jordan, as you pointed out won't just be on issue by issue and vote by vote. It could very well be the entire control of the United States Senate and whether you have leader McConnell or leader Schumer that was in the say the same thing.
After that, and because here's the reality.
This is listen. This practical politics, this what you're doing with practical politics Susan Collins when we were doing that impeachment proceeding. She has also asked for witnesses when she didn't get to know she didn't say one-on-one about for impeachment like Mitt Romney did for his one count, she voted the right way. She voted the way the evidence showed, which was the present was not guilty of the was acquitted of the charges, but against and Susan Collins is making it's a political decision in a political moment I understand it fully and I think it's a wise political decision, but the important thing right now is twofold again.
Amy Barron confirmed on the Supreme Court and give Susan Collins and reelected in Maine what we've got the votes to confirm Amy Barrett. So why judge jeopardize the possibility that Sen. Collins, who by the way, I watched very carefully during impeachment and was literally engrossed and listened. Let me say I was impressed with the acumen with which she listened, and the care that she took in the notes that she took in the attention that she paid the everything that was going on in the floor and I think she is a good senator.
She is running in a very tight race and I think that this may be what tips the scales that I typed. I didn't think so to melt the question. I think for a lot of people admit and this is no this the politics of it. She gets confirmed she's being sworn in tonight that is now behind us. That's gonna paid off the news quickly because we are now literally eight days out from the election which really get into the second half of the broadcast. Looking at where we are right now and this is a preview of coming attractions next 30 minutes.
The one that's got me worried. Jordan and you can be done. Politics. There is George the Army. I still look at the real clear politics average has has trump up with .4 he carried the state by five points in 2016 so it was like he carried by 20 George is certainly it's just that there's a demographic shift none such as the African-American vote there.
It's actually just demographics of people moving from the Northeast. The growth of Atlanta in metro Atlanta these the cities around and so the suburban voter. There is get a little bit different than the suburban voter was there maybe 10 years ago. I still think it's one of those states that like if Republicans were to lose. I mean present trump were to lose that.
That's a sign of bad things on election. It is a state that needs to go present from slight not because you can't leave the electoral votes at racing at Texas. You should wait it would buy 45 points and that if it if you don't wait it. It's a sign of things, I think that I get. That's where the states we might see what the Biden campaign to be spending resources and right now because I still think it's it's too difficult for them to with and edit rather than their Pennsylvania for decades. The ACLJ is been on the frontlines protecting your freedom is defending your rights in court in Congress and in the public arena. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side. If you're already a member thinking. If you're not well this is the perfect time to stand with us, ACLJ.org, where you can learn more about our life-changing work, member today ACLJ live from Washington DC Jay Sekulow and secular Jay Sekulow everything from is what hundred 684 31 two that's what hundred 3110. Yet he's got an errant you go ahead Rasmussen poll has trump was when nationally yes so that as of any how long will that would limit the amount in Mexico while I say it's a tight race. It's a type that is what it moves to write me. I was grasp of the you you you you do that though this is that we're basically eight days out we will not basically where eight days out so this is when it starts to really tight is not what Democrats want to see. They did not want to snap it always tightens Democrat strategist know that people been around the block and these campaigns. They understand that it would come to a national campaign at least a pulse type that doesn't mean that your kid a woman by landslide, but right but the polls will tighten a who needed the pulse to tighten who needed that kind of boost. I think to the energy was present. Trump and it was not you, Joe Biden wanted that idea of that I'm inevitable your to be dealing with me. My people going out to vote early so the Trump people.
It's everywhere that they show up on election day for a for lot and in the course that you obscene poster that show that about 97% of Trump voters say they get it, that haven't voted yet say they're going to vote on election day. So like they're motivated group. This can wait hours in line to vote. But the question was who needs the momentum shift to where it just shows your base that are within striking different different striking distance in every single state that matters. And nationally, and it does polls worked the case for present trump two weeks ago and we know is that he typically over performance and if he over performs the latex by the IRS yet right so let's see. This time he over performs only by four was still landslide so no poser to show that but if they show that tightening.
It's the real it's the it's the kind of check on create reality for the Democrats and the left in the mainstream media that that I think what you'll start seeing this week is they will start going into crisis mode because they've realized for the last two weeks they played up how Joe Biden to get to landslide for different ways how Donald Trump can't win. He just can't get reelected. Now the video into crisis mode and because I got to figure out how to get people motivated to get out and vote. If they miss their early voting or if they miss the mail and timeline, which a lot of secretaries states and blue states of said don't do that anymore.
Like if you got a mail and you did you drop it off in person seat you either in person vote or go drop that off in person because they just cannot guarantee it. Some the states don't the rules are not clear.
So I think you'll see crisis mode kick in, probably within the next 24 to 48 hours because the Democrat media cannot preach to their own choir. This is in the bag because the choir won't show up to vote and if that's the case in the this helps them over and over again they love. They are Washington insiders and they get overconfident and the people out there say why bigger risk because they they've preach this to risk my life going to vote and waiting three or four hours at suburban areas, but were good with Joe Biden at this at the back and see that's where I think the problem comes into place like Georgia in places like Florida places probably like North Carolina. But we all agree that if Georgia were to go against the President very bad sign that the election would be in and we will jump well I personally would feel very bad because being a Georgian, it would be really upset me to tremendously but I hear that VP Biden is going to Georgia one more time when I thought was interesting as it is going to Warm Springs and that they are. That doesn't make it well.
It doesn't make any sense politically, yet because well I don't know about that boneheaded when he said he wanted to add on to the Supreme Court is always going FDR but let's talk about that area.
J I were talking about where I live. Meriwether County were talking about Pine Mountain Waverley Hall were talking about Chattahoochee were talking about ACL therefrom at Ariel's and it may be symbolism, but as far as getting votes from Georgia. From that, but I think you have media media that gets median age at which a buddy sent her to got got clergy devote Barack Obama's of it flat very clearly. I am not into that. Like the weird drive-up of its Mayan Barack Obama was awesome.
Kim Haider given that excellent order.
It's flat what he says and the crowd like my present from faceted issues dominate the media right now is it is what state by state-by-state rally by challenges facing Americans for substantial time when our Valley freedom sword constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever to stay with the American Center for Law and Justice on the frontlines protecting your freedoms defending your rights in court in Congress and in the public arena and we have an exceptional track record of success. Mary, welcome to Jay Sekulow live your on the air from Illinois in the beginning of the month. I did qualify about here, and I knew my belt and when I met nothing that I wanted to register here for quite Gardner and other Republican went and registered about and the women that shaken. First of all I didn't have a Colorado if I can get. And she calmly that in order to register and don't worry about it. I'll register you anyway and I thought okay. States use. If you have supported federal ID also like is a covert, especially new people like I have bills which my guides to switch my drivers license yet over to where I live now and so I use my passport and networks is that your federal ID plus have an address in and register but go ahead so Medicare card that allowed me to write me now when I get something showing me where to vote in person if you can't vote in person Colorado. About 48 years on election day in person and she said no, we are in all mailing states you cannot eat anything about that outside or you can mail it and that's all I can. I can't persecute that capsule when I came home I went online and I look and get going.
Talk in person. The Savior is secretary of state websites very clear to us one Google search, which is why this misinformation is wrong from these election workers. So here's what Colorado did the mail and balanced everybody. So what you do if you want to vote in person. It's actually you may return you can you can take your mail-in ballot and say here's my ballot. I didn't use it and vote in person at a polling center and even if you don't return your mail ballot. You can still vote in person. That's right, you get some bizarre things because you could have about out there that you did send in an plus a vote in person to how they can handle that.
But again the you do have the ability to vote in person till 7 PM on election day on November 3. So let's look at this thought when you see the misinformation coming from people and I listen. Some of its potential so it's not I think the missive going on right now is in Pennsylvania. I think Pennsylvania's got dismissed devising is probably mischief in every state. It's a major battleground where there's a major Senate race at work. But, but, yes, there's some Pennsylvania there changing all the judges Harry are changing the rules because we speak absolutely and the United States Supreme Court has refused to intervene so far just to stay.
I agree, but certainly if you look at the statutory language in Pennsylvania. Good Pennsylvania either legislature or the governor does not have the right to change the voting date or when the ballots have to be postmarked.
I mean, it is clear as the sun is or hinge that they don't have the right to do this but yet they continue to overuse the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse for special circumstances. When I think it is clear beyond question that all voters can either vote in person or they can request an absentee ballot, and they can mail it in by November 2 or the very latest November he asked me if I think there's any Bush versus Gore is a be the one case that decides election now. It's very hard to tell a week out, not during the week, the day of the election and in the hours afterwards and you have a better sense on how the counselor looked out Bush versus Gore. It was very close. So every hanging Chad every way. It was Canon made a big difference. So the questions can be in these various states when he Pennsylvania is one of the candidates up. I say +50,000+100,100 20,000 then it makes it harder then those ballots may not have much of an impact less than 50,000 which was last time it could how it's counter to what the court does becomes a really big backyard does become a very big factor in your resort to the courts is not unusual. We had an Gore versus Bush may very well have it again we'll haven't that with a different combination of core members. Though this time and that's going to make a tremendous difference and I think that the confirmation of Justice Barrett I think is very good, no, no, no, no, you never know. I mean, you know. Thank you John Sununu for David Souter, and he knew it was one thing we should have at least 33 to 3 trunk judges on L the Fourth Circuit this last week rolled against the position that the from campaign was advocating so many just don't know yet but let me ask this question to you and to thank you okay we are eight days out we got a Rasmussen poll which I'm sure the essay is an outlier right. That's an outlier, or is it was at postelection was a postdebate rather what was the dating of the poll survey I needed something to tell me we don't know that that's the that's the key. I think that this will all you got with the kids this if for President Trump.
It pulls Titan that is a bad sign for Joe Biden that I don't put a lot of weight international poles, but I think that it it's a sign that says that if you have national polls coming out that even show present Trump in the lead at all what it means is that it is as close as we thought. It is, and it's just like 2016 and let's remember that in 2016 ghetto four years ago. Hillary Clinton was up in Florida. She was up in all these places in the real clear politics average by by more than what ended up being so she was up by four by Julia by one in and you go in Georgia I gig other than Georgia when look at the states. Hillary Clinton was up, and every one of these battleground states and she was up sometimes you owe outside the margin of error of error and that she lost it by by your 56 points and points linked to porch swing so the polls that show the height are good for President Trump leading into the state because his voters are extremely motivated, but it so it's of this Rasmussen poll were checking out that that was done today out there to these the national visited daily pulse postdebate verse daily tracking postdebate yet.
So then what impact giving that debate had had a lot and I mean II would just tell you a couple things I think the Rasmussen poll, which is very fresh.
I think it's confirmation of a trend we've seen at state level polls for a while now. Now obviously you know the state level poles bounce around a little bit. But if you look at along an uptrend.
There's no doubt that the polls in the key states are tightening and adjacent you said earlier that this is the clutch critical time and it really is because you start to see the trend in the state level. But the thing that I noticed to Jake today though Jay and Ajit. I just really was baffled by it.
Joe Biden has no campaign event scheduled for today. I just staggering to me that eight days before what is he doing is choosing the Hillary Clinton coasting strategy. I didn't clearly feel that it's it's it's indescribable to I cannot for the life of me figure out why they did not learn from last time.
Andy and Harry as to as to the strategy of not showing up in the last week even if they do it the way they do it.
Your disputes about user teleprompters on Metcalf's don't do interviews but do but show up places I it is to me be so frustrating as a Democrat activists a Democrat organizer where you turn on the TV and doldrums are debated, three cities that Pennsylvania in a key state and Joe bides back is based. That's they are doing that is the intentional move I think is definitely an intentional moving Medigap yesterday when he said were running against George Rick and George again for another four years and then he was current corrected himself and said, if you saw this, and it was well alarming President Trump so it could be that he's gotten to the point now where his handlers are saying it's better not to put them up. I think this mental strategy from the beginning of this is to keep him away from the cameras unless it's scripted. I think that is correct, but I think fundamentally, the issue which is different than the issues that confronted Hillary Clinton, Biden, people do not trust Biden to be the best advocate for his candidacy. They believe he's very, very weak, and generally speaking, if he's unscripted that is clearly the case.
I also think they are a bit spooked by the fact that there is a laptop circulating somewhere with information. I don't know anything about the laptop but I think the Biden people are a little leery of the questions that he might get make is that play anything I don't know if it is that moving the needle on the boat maybe keep away from the media is moving the needle like that it does. If he keeps away from the media that he is scared to do interviews and he's not going out giving speeches because the media will then shout questions out to you yet.
Does it is moving the needle. The since it's keeping Joe Biden's basement to be present United States. You got to show people that you've got it in you to go harder than anyone else in the country. You gotta have something that drives you because that's what you need to be as present. That's what so present Trump. I already did already. As we speak has been three cities that three massive rallies that will do more and he is present United States having to make those decisions as well and the contrast there.
The contrast there between someone who not in the battleground states is not that where this is actually worse than what Hillary Clinton was doing Hillary Clinton was not going to the right places. But she was still out there.
Joe Biden is not out there. This is eight days out eight days away and he's going to do if it's likely any set of it's like it you know in hot Springs Georgia what you know but no one can actually be there.
That's just a bit like show up in its footage at the site encouraging people to get out the vote that is for-profit, all would be about turnout. That's how tight this election is only when a society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice. Is there any hope for that culture to survive.
And that's exactly what you are saying the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free and powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called like show you how you are personally publication includes all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is empowering the right question for mission life today online/challenges facing Americans is now free to start constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever to stay with the American Center for Law and Justice on the frontlines protecting your freedoms defending your rights in court in Congress and in the public arena and we have an exceptional track record of success. But here's the bottom line we could not do her work without your support, we remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms that remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times.
The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member. Thank you for your thoughts. Well, this is the perfect time to stand with us ACLJ God where you can learn more about her life changing, member today seemed okay Jay Sekulow you write your phone calls. What hundred 60 he went to pseudo-is one thing that it appears certain today that is that this evening latest Judge Barrett will be conferred by the U.S. Senate and then be sworn in as Justice Barrett to the US Supreme Court and immediately begin serving on the court. Like you said, I don't do that quick swearing-in tonight or not anyone later that I sent money will labor to be smarter than I think events of the White House and the elsewhere in the Milliman number people Darren and she will start serving others before the statement is associate Justice of the Supreme Court then is when is this thing going till the debate if the if the use all the debate jail about to take place around 730. I mean, you know, the United States Senate.
There might be some procedural callbacks that could push a little bit later I actually think they're the Democrats my time to yeah yeah exactly could be by 730 is the expected time at this point. Okay I was, because I think the Democrats will put that in prime time, go right ahead. I think that they are making some missteps along the way people like Lisa Murkowski. She was dead said she's not like the way this was going, but she met with Judge Barrett, Judge Barrett won her over so she can both yes and Judge Barrett, the American people as she pulls over 50 something percent. This is while they were doing this whole thing of should the patient have nominees before the election. All that polling. So if you would put her in prime time eight days out to have that vote. Please let show all the Democrats voting against her and the Republicans voted for and that's eight days away from people. The vast majority people will still end up casting their vote. They made a big deal about the early vote yes it's big. The vast majority people to be voting the variant of this race and I think that's right.
I think this calls yes I lets go to God and his face is a question about Judge Barrett be confirmed by Donna Walker Jay Sekulow life, and I love you. I think we had everyone watch it daily and I'm a big jump reporter and very upset about the judge Barrett confirmed that any play that she would be able to speak PA building for some of them is not a subsite limited clearance of what would happen to Pennsylvania last week and sprinkling and I states was a just and the sit in a order on the stay was for four so Roberts joined with Kagan so to Mayor and Briar and you and you had Alito, Thomas, or Sachin Cavanaugh was split for four and they did leave the stay in place which involves the counting of these ballads, but of course that would be an issue is not really an issue right now because not post election day, the merits of the case are up there now just went up latter part of last week commencing on Friday. So when she is sworn in. She will be a judge that can sit on any case that's before the Supreme Court of the United States.
So the Pennsylvania case is up there.
She will be able to sit on it whether it will be done on papers or break just rethink what the oral argument. I don't know, but that's the merits decision so there's been no merits decision yet whatsoever so you have a situation where Justice Roberts on the merits goes handy in favor of media can change would be surprise. However, my strongest voted no on stage before and subsequently decided he has but I become increasingly uncertain about how he's going to do this, why think I am not so pessimistic.
I think that look when you meet your you're dealing with the state you're doing dealing with the different legal standard. When you're dealing with the marriage you're dealing with the law as it relates to this issue still may defer to the states. He may not judge Barrett will be on there.
I want to get to West for second drawing them will go ahead and take another call and and and less traveling up and I want to get your sense of where you think things are right now with the election. Yeah, you know, I think it's going to be thought of a replay of 2016. Right now, so many people in the Democratic Party and on the left are talking about polls which are historically unreliable, but they also the latest thing to using his early voting stats and you beat.
This is notoriously not not reliable.
For example, four years ago. North Carolina said that that the dams had a 13.1% advantage. Now they have a 10.5 less than four years ago and yet they're trying to claim this is a victory in the somehow state yeah exactly their predicting trucks going to lose, which they did this thing four years ago similar thing in Florida and in Nevada there all what it what is happening. The mainstream media takes the stats in these polls which are mere speculation and their presenting them as scientifically based your politics and news and it's really not. So unless Jordan panda so you get 63% of the early voting in Florida is Democrat Wagner 60. They said it was 65% of the early voting they would appear to be in Georgia was Democrat Denise is mean anything submit matters. It shows it. What Is a bit of a shift, but I think that's because the message the present truck to Republican voters. So typically the past, normal Republicans would vote early because they are more motivated group they got out there to get out the vote present truck is said the office by mail. Don't do it show up and actually vote. So the early voting really has only begun in person. In the last week in most places that were down to the last week of it but it started last week.
It wasn't like the last two or three weeks.
That is what I think you start seeing Republican numbers.
I think you go to see a massive turnout Democrats know it. I was this an MSNBC this morning driving in yes listen to in the radio and Mike steel used to be the chair of the RNC is endorse Joe Biden as part of that group.
You, but he said no, you'll see election day. A massive turnout of Republicans because they listing to their present who says don't trust that mailing system and by the way Democrat secretaries of State are telling people now don't trust the mailing system. Too late now to go to see a massive amount of Republican turnout on election day.
I was going to Kathleen Marilyn.
Yet Kathleen online three Walker Jay Sekulow life will come and try all though, I didn't wait until I can pick out daily (electrical Oreo window. Yes, it's not only does it provides electoral votes it would be. But then it also would be a Jordan said this earlier it would be inside his East Coast states that any have to replace it with someplace else.
16.
Electoral yeah there it probably be a sign of things are happening elsewhere below guy. I expect present from and when George, I really knew the one thing I would say about the last question those I actually see the proportion of Democrat to Republican early voting where I would expected to be and I think the increased volume II really think that has to do more with COBIT than anything. Let's call I'll call that it what it is that this is because I like to take this now Alan South Carolina's were my favorite places Gatlinburg, Tennessee hey Alan, welcome to Jay Sekulow life Michael, I just want to encourage everybody and end up in court last week there were no multiple people in Trump gear pump stuff and I went into a store selling that I said would you not think there were also some bond stuff and they said asked her how hopeless working and she said will have the most paraphernalia for things behind most of the stuff Gatlinburg we had over this and he's ready for US into the seas. Nominees at the second perceive him for anything that your ballot here after the present self. Obviously, this is this is a red state, but it does show that in these red states were people could just become like a wave, Republicans week support had a million-dollar right.
People do not to still show up to vote. It's not just all about buying hats and T-shirts do have to do what someplace will be a two hour line in most places.
The lie looks longer than it is but honestly might election day. You might be waiting for three hours and that's usually what what determines who wins those people it's raining it's cold weather is bad. Wake those two or three hours even during pelvic cast their vote on election that will be very talk tomorrow Jay Sekulow ACLJ on the frontlines protecting your freedoms and rights in court in Congress in the public arena.
